Big Horn County Handbook

Sharing local knowledge to preserve the Big Horn way of life.

Wyoming leads all other states with the highest percentage of annual in-migration, and Big Horn County is near the top of the state's figures. Its small population hovers around 12,000 people, but is nearly half "new" each decade. As only 19% of the county's land is privately held, capable land ownership affects entire communities, particularly on acreage with water rights.

With a surge of new residents post-pandemic, Nolan O'Neal knew they needed an inspiring local resource to help landowners not only survive in Big Horn County, but thrive. He had clocked the success of the Mountain Neighbor Handbook in nearby Teton County, and reached out to Bantam to bring their own handbook to life.

"Bantam brought a complete blend of voice, tone, and congruity of thought, accompanied by diverse, superbly developed visuals. Countless readers have independently commented on the quality and intentionality of every detail. We needed for the Big Horn Handbook to communicate in a friendly tone and inspire pride and stewardship, and Bantam delivered."
